5 Indie Designers You Need to Know Now

You can probably guess by now that I love unique fashion; just about anything that you don’t typically see walking down the street is my thing! I’ve recently started expanding my usual online shopping searches to explore new sites and brands, and I’ve stumbled across some of the most crazy, chic, and fabulous pieces I’ve ever seen! One of my favorite online purveyors of indie fashion brands is Wolf & Badger. They have a great selection, and you can get a pretty good amount of style bang for your buck. Out of all the fun finds on their site, these are my top 5 brands that you need to know about and what’s in my shopping cart from each…

Boo Pala

To quote the ever-aesthetically-interesting Guy Fieri, if it’s funky, I’ll find it! Boo Pala’s globally-inspired array of patterns and textures is surprisingly versatile, and yet unique enough to spark some good conversation. This is definitely a brand to check out if you wanna dip your toes in the world of funky fashion without taking a deep dive!

Paloma Lira

I would describe Paloma Lira as part-Coachella, part-Y2K with a dash of a little out-of-this-world extra-terrestrial-ness. I love their fun patchworks, laminated leather looks, and psychedelic swirly prints. Perfect for anyone who wants to stand out with social media-worthy style, this brand is definitely for the bold!

Quod

Quod is a hybrid between upscale and streetwear. Mixing button-downs, tulle, and pearls with acid colors and oversized elements, this brand is the ultimate cool-girl vibe. My favorites are their fluffy tulle skirts! It’s so hard to find a tulle skirt that’s fuller, fashion-forward, and not too sweet. A must for anyone who lusts over NYFW street style!

Fairy Tong

A major contrast to the three previous brands, Fairy Tong is every bit frothy, feminine, and fairy-like as the name suggests! With dresses that evoke Sunday brunch and Spring picnics, the romantic aesthetic of this brand is combined with cold shoulder cutouts and deep-v necklines to keep things from looking too sweet, but still demure. Fairy Tong is perfect for date nights, meeting the family, or seaside mimosa moments.

By Moumi

In my opinion, By Moumi is the ultimate comfy chic brand. Loose silhouettes, wide-leg pants, button-down shirts, and hints of ruffles make this brand a great fit for any fashionista wanting a more laid-back, but still interesting look. This brand especially makes the transition from pandemic PJs to put-together post-vaccine life a little easier! My favorites are the ruffle trousers combined with their sheer tulle ruffle boleros! Add in a plain tank or tee underneath for an “I woke up like this” ‘fit that’s still fit for all your new adventures.
