Summer’s all about that poolside resort feel: the plush towels, luxe lounge areas, lawn games… The only problem is, what happens when you’re on a budget and unable to hop a plane to the Amalfi Coast? Here’s my 4 step plan to making your own summer staycation fit for the ‘gram right in your own backyard…

1 | Put in a (Plastic) Pool

Nowadays, plastic pools are so much more than the flimsy, easily-poppable things that littered our parent’s yards as kids. Brands like Minnidip are making outdoor inflatables chic and glam, plus they’re still affordable!

2 | Sprinkle in Fun Seating

The ultimate outdoor accessories that makes for a luxe lounge space is plenty of swanky seating. Save on space (and dollars!) by opting for inflatable sofas and folding sling chairs!

3 | Add Accents

What’s a poolside space without some pretty towels, beach balls, and a vintage umbrella? Keep ’em in the same color palette as your pool and seating for an intentionally curated look!

4 | Get Some Games

All of my favorite resorts have some sort of lawn game, and this giant backyard chess set is the perfect (albeit slightly pricey) choice to bring the resort home! The good thing is, when you’re talking about investment pieces for the yard, you can store and reuse good quality items for years to come, so it helps justify the cost a bit!
