Hey lovely fashionistas! As you probably know, I love a cute manicure; it’s the best accessory for any outfit! I prefer to do my nails at home, and gel is my jam for it’s long-lasting, salon-worthy effects. I wanted to share with you my latest at-home gel manicure for a little diy manicure inspo, so keep reading to see how I did it!

I love vintage and retro aesthetics, so cherries are one of my favorite 1950s-inspired nail designs. I also love bright pink and sparkle, which ended up being the perfect twist to this fruity manicure. I topped it off with a matte top coat for a modern manicure twist. I’m definitely no nail pro, but this is an easy design that beginner nail artists can do! So…
Here’s how to recreate this cherry nail design…
What you’ll need:
- Bright pink gel polish (I use this set from Beetles Gel Polish)
- Fuschia colored shimmer dust (I use this one available on Amazon)
- Fluffy paint brush or powder brush (here’s a good one!)
- Nail art gel polish (I use this set)
- Matte gel topcoat (here’s what I use!)

Steps:
- Shape and file your nails
- Wipe nails with alcohol swab
- Do one coat of base gel and cure
- Do one coat of pink polish and cure
- After curing, lightly dust nails with shimmer dust using the powder brush
- Paint cherry designs using nail art gel, curing after each layer of the design
- Finish with one coat of matte top gel and cure
