The Table

Vintage books, a gathered collection of glassware as vases for freshly-cut blooms, and homemade teacup candles make for a centerpiece that feels breezy and happenstance. A gauzy windowpane tablecloth is the perfect backdrop for centerpieces (and spills!), and the fact that this one was under $30 from Amazon is all the better! For morning gatherings, I love setting up a brunch bar with my favorites. Homemade bagels for sandwiches with toppings from cream cheese to lox and tuna and chicken salads, deviled eggs, and sweet bread crisps all make for the perfect spread of choose-your-own-adventure food. Shop our West Elm dishes set below…

With a brunch menu, I don’t like making anything too heavy for dinner, so southern-inspired spicy shrimp rolls on homemade bread were the perfect choice! Served with some leftover deviled eggs and crispy potato coins, they were a big hit!

For dessert, a summer classic! Homemade pound cake topped with fresh whipped cream and seasonal berries is a lightly sweet end to a long summer day. A side of lemon sugar cookies for anyone who wants seconds is always a welcome addition!
