Healthy skin is happy skin, and having the right skincare routine will go so far in making sure your skin has that glow. Here’s what I’ve found is the secret to improving your skin’s health…

Hydration
Healthy skin starts on the inside, and growing up my mom would always tell me to hydrate more for the sake of my skin! It really does make a difference; I notice less breakouts, less dryness, and less sensitivity when I take in enough water throughout the day. Have trouble reminding yourself to drink? Try one of these water bottles from Amazon that helps set goals for your water intake throughout the day! I have one and it’s really helped!

The Right Cleanser
I’m a bit fan of oil cleansing for the face! I find that it actually helps remove makeup and dirt better than harsh cleansers, and it doesn’t strip your skin of moisture. I use Odacité’s Montana Harvest oil cleanser and love it! It helps my acne flare ups, and soothes my combination oily/dry/sensitive skin.
Toner
In the past, I haven’t been completely dedicated to using toner in my skincare routine. But, it really does make a difference the more you use it! I’m a fan of Odacité’s Blue Aura Cleansing Water and also their Aloe + Immortelle Hydra-Repair Treatment Mist. I use the cleansing water right after washing my face, or before to remove makeup, and I use the treatment mist after all of my skincare products to set them.
Day + Night Moisturizer
I think it’s vital to healthy, glowing skin to have different moisturizers for day and night. Day moisturizers are usually lighter, as your skin tends to get oily during the day just from you being out and about, and you don’t want something super heavy that’ll make it hard for your makeup to cling to. At night, your skin repairs itself, and can tend to dry out more due to your face rubbing on a pillow. You’ll want to opt for something ultra-hydrating and repairing for night so your skin feels refreshed in the morning! My favorites for each occasion? I love Odacité’s Green Smoothie Quenching Crème for day, and their Crème de la Nuit for nighttime. The Green Smoothie moisturizer has cucumber and feels ultra refreshing for a nice pick-me-up in the morning, and the Crème de la Nuit has rose for the ultimate in hydration.
Gentle Enzyme Peels
I’m not a huge fan of harsh skin treatments; I’ve noticed sensitive and acne prone skin does much better with gentle exfoliation. Enzyme peels and masks are a great way to slough off dead skin cells and clear pores without the irritation and rubbing that traditional exfoliants cause. If you’ve never done a peel before, or have sensitive skin like I do, I’d recommend Odacité’s Bioactive Rose Gommage. It uses pineapple and papaya enzymes to gently remove dead skin cells and refine pores, with ingredients like Hyaluronic Acid to hydrate and reduce irritation.
Vitamin C & Sunscreen
No matter what, I’ll always use a Vitamin C cream or serum in my skincare routine. Vitamin C brightens skin and reduces the appearance of dark spots, so it’s my number one secret to glowing skin! At night, I use Alpyn Beauty’s Triple Vitamin C Brightening Bounce Cream Moisturizer, and during the day, I love Alpyn Beauty’s Bearberry & Vitamin C Glow Serum due to its glowy, pearly finish.
Sunscreen is also essential for any healthy skin! You should apply sunscreen on your face daily, and make sure you apply to all your skin when spending prolonged periods in the sun to protect against skin cancer and premature aging. A lot of sunscreens don’t have clean ingredients, though, so it can be tricky to find all-natural sunscreens. My favorite clean facial sunscreen is Odacité’s Sun Guardian Day Crème SPF 30. It’s a clean sunscreen and day cream all in one, so you’ll get a lot more benefits than just sun protection!
