I don’t know about you, but I spend hours each day on Pinterest browsing for inspiration and my favorite is seeing all of the funky and fab street style looks out there! One thing that’s been catching my eye lately, though: bucket hats.
Bucket hats have been an up-and-coming trend all this year (hello, 90s trends!), and they’re sure fun to wear with tons of outfits! So how do you wear bucket hats like the pros? Here are my top tips…
1 | Color Coordinate
One thing street style stars love doing is color-coordinating their looks. If you’re just starting out, pick a color palette of two complementary colors (opposites on the color wheel- like this pink/neon green!), and one or two neutral colors. Complementary colors provide the biggest visual impact, while the neutrals ground everything. Make sure each piece of your outfit has at least one of the colors, and you’re set! (Bonus- layered looks automatically read street chic, so don’t be afraid to play with outerwear!)
2 | Explore Textures
Forget the classic canvas; the best bucket hats are fluffy, fuzzy, and plush! Plus, cow print is totally in at the moment! A textural bucket hat can give your look a lot of interest, and a trendy Y2K twist. Here’s a few of my faves…
3 | Play With Patterns
A printed hat is so fun, and an unexpected way to bring some pop to your look! I’m personally a huge fan of daisy prints, but Y2K inspired prints like zebra, cow, and cherries are really on-trend right now too! Shop my picks below…
