Why I’ll NEVER use conventional hairdryers again after buying a Dyson hairdryer

I have held out on buying a Dyson hairdryer for so long for a few reasons: the price, and the hype. I mean a $300+ hairdryer that’s become a cult fave?? Seems like another beauty gimmick, right?

Wrong…

I finally bought the Dyson hairdryer because I have scalp dermatitis and regular hairdryers just weren’t getting my roots dry enough to where I wouldn’t have a flare up. I bought the Dyson hairdryer at Costco since it was the best price I could find, and I figured that I could return it if I needed to since they have a great return policy. Little did I know I wouldn’t dream of returning this hairdryer after one use…

I IMMEDIATELY fell in love with the Dyson hairdryer after the first time I used it. PS- this isn’t sponsored, it’s my honest opinion on this product! I don’t really buy a lot of beauty gadgets-of-the-month and I’m pretty minimal when it comes to styling my hair. I very rarely use heat tools on my hair (especially since I’ve been trying to grow my hair super long!), and I don’t ever really do intricate hairstyles, so initially investing in an expensive hairdryer wasn’t a priority for me. But oh the difference it makes.

Using the Dyson hairdryer made me WANT to dry my hair every night, and it’s actually helped soothe my scalp dermatitis since I’m no longer going to bed with damp roots. Here’s what I love about the Dyson hairdryer in particular:

  • The POWER!! This hairdryer drys my hair so fast and it really blasts the warm air down to my roots in a way that other hairdryers really can’t compete with.
  • It drys my hair QUICK! Because it has such amazing power, this hairdryer drys my hair in like a minute whereas conventional hairdryers took way longer.
  • Doesn’t damage- I’ve been using this hairdryer every night after I shower and I feel like my hair feels healthier with less breakage than when I used my old hairdryer.
  • No more hair getting caught in the back of the hairdryer- I have long hair that would occasionally get sucked into the back of my old hairdryer and burnt, but the design of the Dyson hairdryer means this isn’t an issue!
  • The design of this hairdryer is easy to use (ie it’s not bulky or awkward) & I love that it comes with a display stand for at-your-fingertips use.

Now, I do have to admit that nothing is 100% perfect, so there are a couple things that weren’t my favorite about the Dyson hairdryer. First off, the Dyson hairdryer came with a ton of attachments that I honestly haven’t and probably will never use (but if you’re a hair pro, you might!). I have only used the comb attachment and I do like it! Second, and this is minor, the power cord is a *little* bulky. It has a kind of converter module on the cord, and it’s a thicker cord in general than conventional hairdryers, but it doesn’t really inhibit the hairdryer’s use.

Overall, I would 1000% recommend the Dyson hairdryer. Even if you’re not a huge beauty trend follower or haircare obsessor, the Dyson hairdryer is a great investment that’s definitely worth the money for how much of a difference it’ll make in your haircare routine. The Dyson hairdryer is definitely a big investment, but it’s one that’s going to last you for years and become one of your favorite beauty tools (like it is for me!).
