My husband of 5 years and I have always dreamed of having a Vegas elopement, and a vow renewal celebration for our 5 year anniversary seemed like the perfect opportunity to check one off our couples bucket list!

Here are all the details from our beautiful Vegas elopement…

The Venue

We chose the classic Little White Chapel Tunnel of Love for our vow renewal, and in case you’re wondering why this particular Vegas wedding chapel, I got two words for ya: Pink Cadillac. Yes, you can actually GET MARRIED (or in our case, RE-married) while sitting in a real vintage pink Cadillac in a tunnel of love embellished with cherubs and allll sorts of kitschy touches. I remember seeing photos of the pink Cadillac wedding ceremony on Pinterest way before I even met my husband and I knew I wanted to get married here someday. Something about this chapel and the Cadillac reminds me of mid-century era shotgun weddings and that old-school romance of running away to Vegas to marry your soulmate…

When we got married, my husband and I had the traditional family wedding and while it was absolutely beautiful and I wouldn’t change a thing, I feel like that intimacy between the two of us during our wedding day got a little distracted. Between running around to greet everyone during the reception, to me being afraid to get emotional in front of people during the ceremony, we found ourselves wanting a day that was just us and a couple friends so that we could reflect on our commitment without worrying about anything else.

Back to the chapel, we really had a great experience! The minister we had was an older gentleman who was so sweet and personable, and actually reminded me of my great grandfather! He made our ceremony so beautiful, and short and sweet; just how we prefer! The receptionists when we got there were really welcoming and complimented us on our outfits (lol!), and made it a stress-free day.

The Ceremony

Here. Come. The. Waterworks. Literally. I’ll just say that I didn’t cry the first time we got married, and was just kinda worried that I’d mess up or say the wrong thing during the ceremony. Our vow renewal was a million percent different. Sitting next to my husband in the back of that Cadillac with just his brothers and a few friends watching, I looked into his eyes and found myself crying the happiest of tears as I said my vows. I really felt like I was able to be in that space with him where we shut the whole world out. That’s exactly why I wanted an elopement style vow renewal in the first place. The ceremony was quick, only lasting about 10 minutes, but it felt like the renewal and spiritual refresh that we were both looking for.

The Dress(es)

For our vow renewal ceremony, I wore a dress I had been drooling over on Pinterest for years! It’s by the designer Chotronette and was an absolute dream to wear! It had sequin unicorns, moons, stars on top of frothy, ethereal apricot-colored tulle, complete with long billowy sleeves and a keyhole back. What. A. Dream. PS- it’s linked below for you to shop!

Since we booked our photographer (who also happened to be a family friend!) for 6 hours, my husband and I wanted to do some additional couples photos around Las Vegas in some different outfits. I had two stunning Selkie gowns that I had been dying to wear, along with a showgirl-inspired feather-trimmed pink veil I had custom made from British brand Crown and Glory, and a celestial zodiac dress from Zimmermann. We set off for Seven Magic Mountains, Red Rocks Canyon, and the iconic Fremont Street Experience for a collection of incredible couples photos that I’ll cherish forever! Which brings me to…

The Photographer

Our incredibly talented photographer was our family friend, Ally of @abstillsphotography. She really took the most gorgeous photos and helped my camera-shy husband feel right at home! I couldn’t recommend her high enough, so check out her page!

This day was so special to my husband and me, and if you’re thinking of eloping or doing a vow renewal in Vegas, I’d highly recommend it! I’d personally recommend choosing a day of the week or a Sunday (like we did!) so that the chapel and tourist locations are less busy.

I can’t wait to share more of our adventures with you, be sure to subscribe to my blog so you don’t miss a moment!
