Right before Hurricane Hilary hit Southern California, my husband and I managed to slip away for a date we’ve been wanting to do for a long time: whale watching! While we didn’t see any whales, we did see a TON of bottlenose dolphins, and it was nice to get out and spend some time together amongst a hectic time as of late. You know I love a good outfit theme, so of course I had to opt for a seaside inspired look for this outing! Read on to see what I wore…

Seaside Details

The star of this look was definitely my wicker whale bag from one of my favorite brands, Wicker Darling! Wicker animal shaped bags were popular in the 1950s-1960s, and they’re pretty hard to find nowadays, so finding this brand was a big bundle of joy for a vintage-inspired fashion lover like me! The boat captain loved this bag so much that he took a photo and shared it with the crew!
Nautically-Inspired Blazer

This quilted blazer that I wore is by Generation Love and it is a stunner! The quilting is super warm, perfect for chilly seaside breezes, and the washed denim and double gold buttons give those sailor vibes! Shop this and other nautically-inspired blazers below:
Flattering & Comfy Jeans

BlankNYC is one of my favorite denim brands, and these jeans are a closet staple of mine! The fit is great, though a teeny bit on the small side, and the patchwork detail keeps things interesting. Shop my BlankNYC denim favorites below:
Classic Nike Air Force 1s

A trend that’s become a classic, Nike Air Force 1 sneakers are another closet staple. They’re comfy and look great with just about anything! Shop my favorite Nike Air Force 1s below:
This was such a fun trip, and I would definitely go again! Hopefully we’ll get to see some whales next time! Be sure to subscribe to my blog for more style diaries and outfit inspo!
