It’s 2022, and we should be paying more attention to not only what goes into our products, but who they’re tested on! I committed to going cruelty free and clean a few years ago, and it’s worked wonders for my acne and other skin concerns, while also helping me feel good as a consumer knowing that I’m not contributing to brands that harm our furry friends.
It can definitely be a tough transition when you’re used to products performing a certain way, but CF and natural formulations have really come so far that it now only takes a little digging before finding ones that work just like their non-clean counterparts. To take some of the guess work out of finding the right products, here’s a list of three cult-favorite beauty products and their clean & cruelty free dupes that I love…
Guerlain Météorites Illuminating Powder Pearls vs. Athr Beauty Supernova Crushed Diamond Highlighter
I picked Athr Beauty’s crushed diamond highlighter as a dupe because it really packs the multi-dimensional shine! It comes in three pretty shades and is made with skin-loving ingredients like jojoba oil and honeysuckle flower extract.
Benefit They’re Real Mascara vs. Milk RISE Lifting +Lengthening Mascara
This mascara by Milk really lengthens my lashes and has great staying power! Plus, it’s easier to take off IMO than the Benefit one.
NARS Bronzer Powder vs. Kosas The Sun Show Moisturizing Baked Bronzer
I’m a huge fan of Kosas products in general; I’ve been a lover of their lip glosses for a while now! Their bronzer is just as effective as NARS, while also being good for your skin with shea butter and meadowfoam oil.
Making the transition to clean and cruelty free products isn’t too much of a stretch in the long run! Once you learn how to apply the products to get the same kind of use out of them as their non-clean counterparts, it becomes second nature.
